It’s funny: for a long time I didn’t consider myself a composer or producer, even though I have composed hundreds of hours of music for film, television, and other projects and spent a decade making key production decisions in the recording studio. One of my favorite things is taking a draft or fragment and acting as a facilitator for the ideas of other musicians. If you’d like to work together on a project or get some feedback, click here to send me an email.
If you know you want a solo instrument or an ensemble of string players for your already-written song or album, send a link to your demo and email briefly describing your vision. I am completely able to improvise without sheet music, as well. It’s a different task, but one that I deeply enjoy!
I’ve played and recorded with more people that I can recall—some of whom are pictured above. Most of my friends are professional musicians. Most of them create music. I have played with most of them, and the interplay and exchange of ideas during songwriting and recording can be magical. It can also turn into 70 minutes of listening to a snare sound on 3 different sets of headphones and a car radio outside trying to figure out if it’s too “hummy” or not. Such is the life of a creative person; equal parts peak experience and problem solving.
Last, if you’d like original music for a podcast or a score for a film/television project, email me here. Depending on what you have in mind, I can either send you a demo, mock up some ideas based on temp tracks, or refer you to one of my other colleagues whose style or portfolio may be better suited for your project.
